| The Mediocre Press was a newspaper which was handed out to the public. The intention was to infiltrate the public's attention as they go about their everyday routine. In return I wanted to evoke a response about peoples opinion on the environments they move | through to get where they need to be. | Whilst spending time within the city you get a feel for these places of transit, where people move through but retain any form of attachment, only using it as a concourse to reach where they need to be. Inspired by the relationships of people and the places they inhabit within the modern day environment, I wanted to question their engagement within these spaces often left to | disregard. To capture the existence of the non-place became a routine, looking within the underpass, back street and alleyway but also the construct of shopping mall and transport hub. I not only looked to the inhabitants who frequent these places, even for a moment, but the structure and environment, documenting the emotions it evoked through word and image.
